YORKSHIRE firm Ciba Bradford has helped villagers in Noon Bagla
by sending them first aid boxes – an idea thought up by
the AHS Foundation.
The Ciba manufacturing facility at Low Moor has donated boxes
left over from a company-wide safety initiative, to the village
which it hopes will make a difference to the villagers’
health needs.
The first of these boxes was presented to the village’s
two schools so the teachers can respond to every day accidents
among the children. In the past, such incidents would have involved
an arduous two to three hour trip to a basic health unit or
a risk of infection from untreated wounds, and there are more
boxes to follow.
Joanne Love, Site Communicator, said: “These first aid
boxes were given to our staff as part of an on-going safety
initiative called ‘Safety is our Future’ and we’ve
donated several to local schools.
“When it was suggested that we could donate some to schools
in Noon Bagla, we jumped at the chance. It’s great to
think that our ‘Safety is our future’ campaign is
safeguarding the children’s future in Noon Bagla.”
Waheed Gilani, AHS Project Manager, said: “The earthquake
has made people very anxious about the lack of available medical
equipment as an accident of any intensity can occur at any time.
These first aid kits so kindly donated by Ciba help reassure
us, especially the children, that some help is now at hand in
emergencies.”
