AHS FOUNDATION - DELIVERING HOPE

  J&S Women's Training Institute

Jaqui (High Wickham) heard about the devastation faced by the inhabitants of Noon Bagla and donated a sum of £250 to be used for the benefit of the women of Noon Bagla.

Samina, a woman of the village, was well known for her talents as a seamstress. When our team visited the village in 2008, she offered to give her time freely to train the women of the village in handicrafts.

Using Jacqui's donation, the village innaugurated the J&S Women's Training Institute. They welcomed 56 women on the opening day, eager to learn new skills.

"I was amazed to see how my donation changed so many lives for the better"

Jaqui

The institute now provides skills and vocational training to women from Noon Bagla and the surrounding villages. The Institute will enable the women to help rebuild their villages' shattered economies by learning to create all manner of textile goods for sale, before returing to their villages to begin passing on their new skills to others.
