Kalsoom
Kalsoom, a young lady who born in Noon Bagla but married in village Pakkho was sick for long time. She had some problem in her leg. She was admitted in AIMS Muzaffarabad and again in PIMS Islamabad. The family could not afford to stay in the cities for extended period of times, therefore the treatment in these hospital proved momentary and Kalsoom suffered again.
In December 2007, she was brought to dispensary. The regular treatment with basic medicines helped Kalsoom, and now she is back to her home fully recovered. Afzaal Ahmed, her younger brother told me all this with a great happiness.
Matloob
Matloob a carpenter fell from the roof of an under construction house while fixing CGI sheets in January 2008. He insisted his helpers to bring him to Noon Bagla rather then taking him to Chikar or Muzaffarabad. He was given first aid and he recovered.
Later when he was asked why he insisted to be brought to Noon Bagla? He said that he trusted the treatment at AHS Dispensary. He disclosed that his son was sick for long time and was taken to different hospitals of Muzaffarabad and Islamabad, but all in vain. When AHS Foundation started the help at Noon Bagla, he brought the boy who recovered in a short time. That is why I insisted for here. AHS is helping people genuinely, with good and free medicines.
It seems that when people go to the cities for treatment, they cannot afford to stay there for full treatment. They come back with impermanent recovery, and suffer again. But here the facility is accessible therefore the only basic medicines help them with good results.
Ayoob
Ayoob, a resident of village KAISAR KOT was brought to the dispensary in April. He cut his leg with GI sheet. The wound was big and needed immediate attention. He got stitches besides that we didn't have stitching facilities at the dispensary.
IThe CIBA first aid kit was at the dispensary which contained needle and stitching thread. It helped to save AYOOB's life otherwise the loss of blood could prove fatal.
The Aslam Man
In June, an ASLAM of the village Riyat cut his foot with an axe. He also needed stitches to stop bleeding. He got instant help otherwise it was not possible to take him to Chikar, or elsewhere with that big wound.
Unfortunately people with an injury already lose a lot of blood when they reach to dispensary hours after the wounded.
Hussen Be
A 55 years old lady HUSSEN BE of village KOPRA was brought to Dispensary last week in a critical condition. She was suffering from vomiting, dysentery, and a fever of 105° FH.
She needed immediate attention to bring her temperature down and then treat her for the sever infection. The attempts prove fruitful and she became stable. Two days later she came again riding on a mule.
Her husband, sons, daughters in law, and other family members came to dispensary for nothing else but to thank AHS Foundation and its friends. At that time the lady was still in fragile condition, but she came to report her health condition and offer her gratitude.
Many other people were brought from this village in very bad condition, mostly carried on makeshift and usually they need Re hydrating drips.
The Man From Rahimkot
Last year a man was getting medicines from the dispensary and during his talks with dispenser he mentioned about his village. With a surprise I asked him "have you come from Rahimkot?" (A village in the back valley at a distance of more then two hours walk on foot in normal condition)
"Yes." He replied.
There is a government dispensary there. Isn't it so? I asked, because I was told about a health facility in Rahimkot, by the health secretary in a meeting, when Director AHS Foundation, Mr. Needham visited Noon Bagla last year.
"Yes there is one, but no doctor or medicines" the man replied.
"Had you been here before. Are you happy that AHS has provided this facility here" I asked him.
"Only God can reward AHS for the help they offered to the needy people of this region, where people die helplessly. This hospital will be a hope of life for us.
Last week I came here while taking my minor daughter to Chikar. She was suffering from diarrhoea. I saw this dispensary and brought her here. She was dying and perhaps the time was not enough to reach to a doctor or hospital. She got drips (Re hydration drips) and other medicines here.
After the treatment and with medicines, I took her back home from here. On my way back every once in a while I uncovered her face to see if she was live or dead. Thanks to God, and AHS that she survived and is recovered now. This facility has given me my child back. Now I suffered from blood dysentery. I walked here and could make it to reach home by this evening"
