It was something like a divine help. I have no problem if I say that it was a new life for the children and teachers of our school. What we had before? A temporary shelter; where we kept the remaining records and necessary stationary. In bad weather we had to send the children back to home even before the classes started. In sunny days the children had to sit under the shade of the trees. We had nothing to help us or the children.
These cabins have played a role of life for our school. Until we had one cabin, we used it for class 7 and 8. And the temporary shelter was our office and we were able to manage some more children. When three more cabins arrived, we could teach all the children by putting two classes in one cabin.
Had these cabins not been here, we could not continue the classes at all. We are thankful to AHS Foundation and AAPKI for giving attention to the children of our school and providing us the facility. The building won't be completed until the next year and until that time these log cabins are our shelter. This was genuine help indeed.

How can I explain it in words? Now we send our children to school with no concern or worries; before we used to stop the children from going to school in bad weather or on sunny days because there was no shelter.
In early months after earthquake I used to think that perhaps I'll never send my children to school. It is better to be illiterate than dead.
If instead of these cabins a conventional building was there, I might not send my children to school. At that time we were terrified from the stone walls. The children used to come and sit under the trees or tents. It was okay for us. Then the temporary shelter was made and it was made of light hardboard walls. We were satisfied by thinking that if it collapses it won't kill the children.
It was during that time when the cabins for the dispensary arrived. We saw those cabins and telling you honestly I was wishing if we had that kind of cabins for all of us to lead rest of our life. I was very scared of the traditional houses.
Soon after those cabins a cabin arrived for the school. It relived me and lessened my worries of sending the children to school. Then one and again two more cabins arrived. I prayed for those who had arranged for these cabins for our children. It was then I felt my children safe in the school. I felt that our children would be literate and live as well.

These cabins are our school now. We sit out side in clear weather but sit inside when it rains. I like these cabins. The two classes sit in one cabin when it is raining. I feel very easy and safe when sitting inside the cabins. Before we used to run back home when the sky was cloudy. Now we sit comfortably in the cabins and go home after school closes.

Before the cabins although we had the shelter classes were not regular. Sometimes I used to stay home and the teachers were also not bothered about our attendance. Since the cabins arrived, the classes started regularly. We were told that our school achieved 100% result in the whole district. I think it is all because of the facility the NGO provided.
